They want Marshall to revisit the idea of genetic screening — just to confirm his diagnosis of Schizophrenia from so many years ago is still relevant and correct. So much has changed with medicine over the years and there are better tests that can deliver more accurate diagnoses these days. Given that Marshall already has a diagnosis, what’s the harm in making sure it’s right? He may not see it that way.
General Hospital spoilers show Curtis received his genetic screening results, they provided some inconclusive information that both Curtis and Portia have been left feeling rather unnerved by. Portia reviewed the results and just didn’t see any way Marshall could have Schizophrenia if Curtis wasn’t subjected to a single genetic marker himself. The chances of that happening are so rare that Portia thinks there is more to the story. She may be right, but the more she’s hoping for is far from what lurks beneath the surface.
When Portia and Curtis ask Marshall to do genetic testing again, they’ll pitch it coming from a different angle. They will claim they know it’s his business and if he isn’t concerned with his diagnosis, they shouldn’t be. However, they want to have children together, so they want to make sure their family medical history is accurate on both sides.
That’s when Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) may try to stir the pot after she finds out from Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) that Curtis may be Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) father. Will she get Portia to back down and get off Marshall’s back, or will that only invite concern from Portia as to what Marshall is hiding that he and Stella both don’t want Curtis and Portia to find?
This family may be suffering from not one — but two — major paternity bombshells in the works. Portia has known forever that her daughter might not be Marcus Taggert’s (Réal Andrews) child, and she has chosen to keep that secret and not disrupt her loved ones’ lives. Jordan thinks it’s out of selfishness though, and she might not be off the mark. Likewise, Marshall may be keeping a secret, too — and Stella is in on it!
If Marshall isn’t Curtis’ father, who is, and why did he come back into his life and disrupt things like he did? It’s most likely that Marshall wasn’t sure of his paternity to Curtis and wanted to make sure, and he did so when Curtis’ genetic testing came back. Now, he can’t bring himself to break his heart, although his own is shattered. Stay tuned for more General Hospital news and spoilers as both of these paternity secrets come to light.
