General Hospital Spoilers: Nina’s Marriage With Sonny Will Mirror Her Marriage With Valentin

General Hospital spoilers tease Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) are walking down the aisle, but the wedding is just the first of many hurdles this couple will have to overcome.

Fans have been talking up a storm about what this marriage is going to look like. It’s no secret that the majority of the GH fan base doesn’t find this union appealing — and not everyone is just saying that as they continue to hold out for Sonny’s inevitable reunion with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).

Rather, we’re all waiting for Nina to get what’s coming to her, and some fans are starting to think it’s going to come to her by way of beautiful, glorious karma. The closer Nina has become to being Mrs. Corinthos, the more it looks like her marriage to Sonny won’t bring the relief she thought it would.

All of this time, Nina has been so eager to become Sonny’s wife. It was as though there was some kind of finish line she would be crossing in her mind that would make all of the things she was worried about go away.

Let’s not pretend that Sonny is against divorcing a woman if he learns he can no longer tolerate being in the same room with her.

His marriage to Nina won’t necessarily be worth fighting for if he learns that she has been lying to him all along and betrayed him even when she was saying I do. When the truth comes out about what Nina has been up to, there won’t be any guarantee that this marriage will last.

GH Spoilers – Say Valentin Cassadine Once Broke Nina Reeves’s Heart

Back in the day, Nina was head over heels in love with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). He was the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with, and she never could have imagined she would ever feel that way about someone else — much less a mobster like Sonny.

It seems that Nina’s memory must be rather short, because Valentin’s lies about Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) being Nina’s daughter devastated her. It took her ages to piece her heart back together after that.

This marriage may go down in GH history as being the most short lived of them all. Valentin and Nina didn’t peak the way fans were hoping they would, but at that time, Valentin was the bad guy — the liar.

This time around, it’s Nina who is telling tall tales for her own benefit so she won’t lose Sonny. To make matters worse, her lies were carried out for selfish reasons, whereas Valentin’s intention was to make Nina happy the whole time.

Something tells us Nina is going to be forced to see the error of her ways and how similar she is to her ex when it all falls apart.
