General Hospital Spoilers: Ned Lies In Wait, Nina Pressured To Come Clean

General Hospital Spoilers leak Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is seriously in over her head. Ava Jerome (Maura West) tried to be the best friend Nina has needed since she took to Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) side and swore never to let go, but Nina has made some pretty sketchy decisions since then that have left Ava wondering what has gotten into her and whether Sonny was ever good for her at all.

Nina may have the upper hand at the moment as Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) is stuck in a coma at GH, but the moment he wakes up, it could be game over for her. Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) will continue to turn up the pressure as the feds breathe down his neck, and Ava is going to do the same as she worries that Nina is missing an opportunity to come clean on her own terms, absent Ned’s narrative. Will Nina heed their advice and tell everyone what she has done, or is Ava going to beat her to the punch?

Any attempt to school Nina on Sonny’s history with liars and cads will fall on deaf ears. She doesn’t want to hear that her plan isn’t going to work. She needs to hang onto that hope as the rest of her life — the life she so desperately wants — hinges on it. Ava doesn’t play that game.

Lying to oneself is a recipe for disaster and she’s going to do everything in her power to reach Nina and convince her that her best shot is coming clean to Sonny — and now. Marty is likely to agree, but Nina may write that off as him not wanting to deal with the pressure from the SEC anymore and hoping she will get him off the hook. Truthfully, there isn’t anyone who could get through to Nina on this issue, because she’s committed to believing what she wants to believe. Ava, however, is not.

General Hospital spoilers show Ava feels she knows exactly how this story plays out. She’s seen it a hundred times with Sonny. There is no room in his life for anyone who lies to him. Except for Carly, of course. Nina may pretend their love transcends another dimension and that he would forgive her if it came to that, but the truth is, she knows he wouldn’t — or she would tell him already.

At some point, Ava may shift from concern for her friend to concern about herself. How very Ava of her. She has too much on the line with Sonny to end up at war over the father of her child all because she stayed in Nina’s corner and kept quiet.

We’d love to say Ava won’t make this decision lightly but the truth of the matter is, her friendship with Nina has been very surface level. This isn’t a friend who got her through her hardest times, like the loss of her daughter, Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin).

Nina and Ava are more or less friends because they share an enemy — Carly. And with more time and maturity, Ava has come to be pretty cool with Mama Carly being a part of her family. Does she care if Carly is sent to jail? Nah, but Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola) would, and Sonny would have Ava’s head if he learned she knew about it and could’ve stopped it.
