General Hospital Spoilers: Cyrus Makes It His Mission To Take Sonny Down — Starting With Nina And Michael

General Hospital spoilers reveal Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) has been biding his time and looking for the right way to re-enter the mob market in Port Charles.

Seemingly destitute and working to rebuild his life after being released from prison — a move he orchestrated with dirty connections and blackmail — Cyrus is laying low and letting his enemies have the time they need to come around and see him as a changed man.

That’s when he intends to go in for the kill on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — his arch-enemy.

It was just gravy to overhear Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) butting heads over more melodrama Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) is back to his senses and remembers everything.

Cyrus may not have enough details yet to know what Nina and Michael aren’t telling Sonny, but he can’t wait to find out.

General Hospital Spoilers — Secrets Between Friends?

Anyone would have been able to sense the tension between Nina and Michael on Christmas Eve in Rice Plaza. Stepping away from their family to talk — or argue — out of sight was suspect enough.

They nearly missed the entire living nativity they were there for. Nina was quick to explain away her absence to Sonny, pretending she had a crisis to avert at the Metro Court.

Sonny is growing suspicious of Nina’s behavior lately — and why it continues to coincide with one-on-one conversations with his son.

GH Spoilers – Hint Cyrus Renault Keeps His Ear To The Ground

From the little bit that Cyrus overheard, he knows Michael and Nina are far from friends. Michael spoke to Nina with contempt and had no concern about the stress she was under to produce results for Ned — or else.

Clearly, whatever Ned knows, Nina doesn’t want it getting back to Sonny. That could make Ned the next person on Cyrus’ list of people to cozy up to.

We’d love to see how he would make that happen. He’ll have to get clever to figure out what it is Michael and Nina are brooding and arguing over, and why Sonny is being kept in the dark.

General Hospital Spoilers — Nina Reeves Becomes A Target — Again

Obviously, between the two of them, Nina is a far weaker target than Michael is. Furthermore, Cyrus could tell from her exchange with Michael that she already lacks leverage, is over a barrel with both Michael and Ned, and can’t readily run to Sonny to get her out of trouble.

So when Cyrus comes knocking with his own version of blackmail, will Nina really jeopardize Sonny’s empire and the safety of everyone he loves just to hang onto him?
