General Hospital Spoilers: Charles Shaughnessy Tweets Final Goodbye As Victor Cassadine

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that Victor Cassadine’s reign of terror is officially over in the land of Port Charles. The character’s portrayer Charles Shaughnessy recently hopped on social media to provide a message to fans, as the villain officially exited GH storylines.

General Hospital Spoilers  – Victor Cassadine Went Out In An Explosive Fashion, Literally

GH fans were on the edge of their seats during the Friday, May 5th episode, as an airstrike seemingly took out the Haunted Star with Victor and his nephew Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), among others, on board.

Would Spence be okay? Was Victor blown to pieces or did he escape? There were so many unknowns for viewers of the soap, heading into the weekend.

With that said, the Monday, May 8th episode cleared things right up and answered many questions. A body had been recovered from the explosion, and it was Victor’s.

While any member of the Cassadine family is never “dead”, it seems that Victor has truly passed on, for the time being.

Alas, the end of Monday’s show also revealed that Spence escaped the explosion and is seemingly heading back to Port Charles with the rest of the town’s heroes.

GH Spoilers – Charles Shaughnessy Tweets About His Time On The Soap

GH fans knew that Charles Shaughnessy’s time was coming to an end, so Victor’s passing wasn’t overly shocking. After all, the actor let viewers know back in April that his run as Cassadine was winding down.

Mr. Shaughnessy hopped on Twitter after Victor’s death was revealed on Monday stating that he is both “humbled” and “honored”.

He offered a “thank you” to fans and noted that he’s grateful for such a “meaty” and fun role. He also thanked GH’s writers for giving Victor one of the greatest villain send-offs he could remember.

Victor was truly an awful person; however, Charles played him flawlessly. Who didn’t love to hate Mr. Cassadine, right? Now that Victor is out of Port Charles, could fans see Shane Donovan back in Salem and on Days of Our Lives (DOOL)? Only time will tell!
