General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Was Right — Nina Can’t Handle Sonny, But She Can

General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was right again. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) absolutely cannot handle Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) at his worst, and she knows nothing about the man he really is. That’s going to become increasingly clear as that part of his personality draws toward the forefront, and the gentle cowboy named ‘Mike’ that Nina still saw in him slowly erodes away.

Nothing can bring out the darkness in Sonny more than betrayal, and when he feels that sting coming from within his own family, it’s going to bring serious consequences.

No one linked to Sonny will escape his wrath. Nina isn’t going to deal well with the sudden shift in his personality, nor the focus on his business — which she’s always trying to pretend doesn’t exist. Enter, Carly. She’s going to swoop in to save the day and remind Nina of everything she isn’t.

When Carly told Nina she wasn’t worthy of Sonny’s love — okay she didn’t say it like that but she might as well have — Nina didn’t take it to heart.

Sure it bothered her, but she brushed it off as more of the usual vicious verbal assaults from Carly that weren’t worth her time. General Hospital spoilers show Nina has Sonny, so what is she worried about? Well, she’s worried that Carly is right.

As Sonny comes under fire and needs to focus all of his time on his business and keeping himself afloat, Nina just isn’t going to get it, and that will be clear to Sonny. He can’t rely on Nina for this kind of support. She wouldn’t know the first thing about it, and he’s not wrong.

Nina will start to have some pretty serious concerns about what could happen if Sonny finds out she is the person who turned Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC.

As she learns just how poorly Sonny deals with betrayal, she’ll grow worried that she would never be able to hang onto him if he knew. Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) just might know what she’s talking about.

If Sonny would cut his own son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), out of his life for betraying him — and potentially do away with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) permanently for the same — certainly, he wouldn’t give her another shot if she tried to put the mother of his children in prison.

At the same time, she’ll wish she could be there for her beau, but she won’t be able to wrap her head around the kind of struggles he’s facing. What does it feel like when one’s criminal empire is breaking apart?

How might he feel being faced with the possibility of going away to federal prison? Could Sonny be locked up for the rest of his life?
