General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is skating on thin ice as Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) aim to take him down. Now, another threat has made their presence known when a sniper tried to take Sonny out in a local warehouse last week.

The risk to Sonny’s business and life are enough to give Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) pause. She has already lost Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Now, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is headed into a war out of town with Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), and Sonny looks like he’ll be battling a different kind of fight back home. Sonny’s needs just might trump Carly’s love for Drew when he’s out of sight out of mind.

Despite his attempts to be strict about who he allows into his life and his organization, Dex’s antics are going to see to it that Sonny does end up behind bars. It might not be a lifelong situation like he and Michael had planned on, but Sonny is going to be tied up for a while. Initially, Michael and Dex will rejoice right along with Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) as they assume Sonny will be locked up long enough for his enterprise to be in ruins. It’s too bad for them that Carly is never going to let that happen.

GH Spoilers – Hint Carly Spencer Knows How To Run The Show

Sonny and Carly know best how mob life works, and they’ve always hoped to maintain the security and safety of their family at all costs. That means when Sonny can’t function, someone else has to. With Jason out of the picture, the next best person to run the ship while Sonny is away is Carly. This is going to infuriate Michael when he finds out his mother is putting herself in the most dangerous role possible again to have Sonny’s back.

General Hospital Spoilers — Nina Reeves Is Seething

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will be none too happy about it either, but the family can’t risk losing their place in the five families, nor their rein over Port Charles. Nina has already been pushed out of Sonny’s life as he pulls Carly further into it.

Finding out that she’s the one who is going to step up and save him when he’s in a bind will make Nina’s skin crawl. She won’t have a leg to stand on arguing against it though because Nina doesn’t know how to save Sonny the same way that Carly can. That’s what will eat her alive.
