On the other hand, Nikolas may have bounced back since we were last clued into his condition, and that could mean he’s pulling all of the strings in Victor’s absence with Mason’s help. That would surely explain why he is targeting Ava so hard.

While some viewers suspect that Austin is manipulating Ava into complying with Mason’s demands, the reality might be quite different. Austin could be trying to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.

If Austin knows that Nikolas is alive, he might be hoping to keep things at bay in Port Charles by complying with his orders — so long as he doesn’t come back to town and try to seek revenge on Ava.
