General Hospital spoilers reveal Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) are about to sit down for a long overdue chat.

Both mothers of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) children, they have to be equally concerned about the acts against him and the risk to their kids. But it won’t take long for the conversation to turn to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), which might make things murky for Ava.

On one hand, she’s beholden to Nina as her best friend, but on the other, she commiserates with Carly and understands Sonny in a very different way than Nina does. This could get messy.

Carly just might bring Nina up to Ava knowing that this conversation could go South very quickly. Still, Ava will probably hear Carly out even if just in the interest of letting her talk herself off a ledge.

Is Carly about to incriminate herself as the big, bad ex-wife bullying Sonny’s current love? Probably not. Carly is a realist, and she and Ava share that in common. So when she references Nina’s hatred for her straight-shooting tongue, Ava might clap back — until she realizes she agrees with Carly, that is.

Ava may not have been in a decades-long marriage with Sonny, but she knows him very well having co-parented Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola) with him for years. Add to it, Ava grew up in the mob.

She may have chosen to walk away from that lifestyle, but she knows how it changes someone and what it takes from them to be able to stomach staying in it. Nina doesn’t have the kind of ruthlessness it takes to be coupled up with a mob kingpin like Sonny.

Instead, she’s been pretending she’s in a relationship with one part of Sonny and his life — keeping the other part on ice somewhere else.

When Ava links back up with Nina, she just might feel compelled to tell her bestie about her relationship with her nemesis.

How will Nina take the hit when Ava expresses that she actually sees Carly’s point of view and agrees Nina probably isn’t cut out for being the kind of long-term partner Sonny will need if she’s never going to be willing to expose herself to the entirety of who he is.
