The choice of Elizabeth as Head Nurse will likely prove to be controversial. Elizabeth recently barely escaped going to prison for keeping Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) whereabouts a secret when Esme was being held captive by Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). But Elizabeth made a deal with authorities and all charges were dropped. Similarly, the Hospital Board also agreed that Elizabeth should keep her position at General Hospital!
Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken) will likely try to use Elizabeth’s recent history to keep her taking the position. But the truth is, what Elizabeth did has nothing to do with Amy’s stance. Amy simply likes to do things her own way and doesn’t like being told what to do. She had a similar issue when Dr. Terry Randolph was first named Chief of Staff. Amy won’t like the idea of Elizabeth being her boss and may use Elizabeth’s past actions as her way of keeping that from happening.
But no matter how much of a fuss Amy puts up, Elizabeth will have the rest of the nursing staff on her side. Amy will likely lose this battle and if she wants to keep her job at General Hospital, she will have to learn to accept that Elizabeth will be her boss. And that’s exactly how Epiphany wanted it!
Will Elizabeth make a good head nurse? Is Amy right to have objections? Or does Amy just not like being told what to do?
