Meta-tag: When asked about her children’s reaction to the Fuller House spin-off, Jodie Sweetin said they just ‘don’t care.’
Fans of the original show, Full House, were thrilled when Netflix released the spin-off, Fuller House. In fact, the show ran for five seasons, bringing back the cast everyone loves. However, while fans loved the show, Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie Tanner, says her kids “don’t really care” about a show that stars their mom.
Jodie Sweetin’s kids are not impressed by Fuller House
Full House and Fuller House Jodie Sweetin recently opened up about her family’s reaction to Netflix’s Full House spin-off, Fuller House. In fact, the star who plays Stephanie Tanner said her kids could care less about the series.
It was in 2016 that Netflix brought back the core cast of Full House to their iconic San Francisco home, including Sweetin, as the middle Tanner daughter, Stephanie. However, despite the show being popular and running for five seasons, it turns out Jodie’s daughters are not impressed by the show.
In an interview with Today.com about her new Hallmark movie, The Jane Mysteries: Inheritance Lost, Sweetin said that her daughters, Zoie Herpin, 15, and Beatrix Coyle, 12, really don’t care about the show, saying:
They don’t really care. I mean they’ve watched it before, they used to come to tapings, but at the end of the day, it’s mom. They’re not really that impressed. People want to raise mini versions of themselves.
I just try and remember, ‘This is your own journey and I’m just here to help.’ I’m just here to allow them to figure out life on their own and be kind of the bumper rails for it. We have fun together. They trust me. We have a really open relationship. I’m really grateful for that.
Will Fuller House return for season 6?
With the popularity of the Netflix series, fans have always hoped for a sixth season of the family sitcom. In fact, despite it being several years since the show ended, they still want to see more of the Tanner family. However, the cast just isn’t in agreement about renewing Fuller House.
For instance, Dave Coulier, who plays Joey in the original and revival show said he is in favor of revisiting the show, despite the sad passing of Bob Saget. However, John Stamos isn’t interested in continuing, following the sudden death of their beloved co-star.
Meanwhile, Sweetin is pushing for a Golden Girls-inspired Full House spin-off. The idea does sound like fun, but it isn’t likely to happen soon. Moreover, her supposed falling out with co-star Candace Cameron Bure tends to put the idea on pause.
However, the biggest issue in the further spin-off is the lack of an available platform. Maybe if a streaming service finally expresses interest, it could go ahead and could be a great way to honor Bob Saget’s legacy as Danny Tanner.
