EastEnders spoilers, news, and updates tease that Danny Dyer, who played Mick Carter in the soap for nine years, revealed that he was not happy about his character’s storylines before he left the show.
Mick Carter’s series exit was during the EastEnders’ Christmas Day episode. His character was killed off by a drowning incident, with him trying to save Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) after an intense car chase.
During an interview with iFL TV, he compared his exit with an expected twist with the Neighbors’ (an Australian soap opera) character Harold Bishop (Ian Smith). In the series, Bishop was washed out into the sea, then comes back a few years later with no memory. He’s implying that his character could potentially return.
This happens in some drama series that never really conclude an exit, or there is no definite closure provided for the character.
However, he also revealed that he felt that his Mick Carter had lost his way, and he personally wasn’t quite sure who he was playing anymore. In his words, “it was a really odd thing.” This is acceptable, as most actors need to be able to relate to their characters to play them well.
EastEnders Spoilers – Mick Carter Remains Grateful
Despite the disappointment, he said he still remains thankful for the opportunity of playing Mick Carter from 2013 to 2022. It was time to move on, according to him, and he is ready to participate in low-budget projects.
But just shortly after his exit, Dyer got a part in a new comedy series called Mr. Bigstuff, where he will be working alongside writer Ryan Sampson. Ryan Sampson wrote the series and will also play a part in the series. Dyer and Sampson will play estranged brothers Lee and Glen, respectively. The two previously worked on Plebs.
Dyer has worked on a variety of projects over the years, mostly in TV movies and short films, including Power to the People, Kiss of Death, All in the Game, and Second Generation. He was also featured in the modern, dark take of Alice in Wonderland – the 2009 film Malice in Wonderland starring Maggie Grace (known for her role in the movie Taken).
Even though Mick Carter is not in EastEnders anymore, the series recently released a new trailer focusing on the big moments of some of its characters’ life, especially Linda Carter.
