This comes after he talked to his old teacher about intelligence. He was usually humiliated in front of the class because of his intellectual capacity.

EastEnders Spoilers – Confronting His Old Teacher

Freddie was able to go back to his old school with the support of his friend Bobby Beale (played by Clay Milner Russell). He was also supported by Jean Slater (played by Gillian Wright) and Harvey Monroe (played by Ross Boatman).

Freddie returned to his old school to stand up to his old teacher Mr. Hawthorne. He told him how he felt about his way of teaching in the classroom.

After the confrontation, Mr. Hawthorne went to the café to look for Freddie. He apologized for how he handled him at school. He also mentioned that Freddie could not focus during class and made him treat him the way he did. He also mentioned that it could be undiagnosed ADHD.

Freddie wasn’t very pleased by what he heard and dismissed Mr. Hawthorne’s assumptions regarding his condition. He just welcomed the idea of it when the teacher personally went to their house to give more information about the problem.

Eastenders Spoilers – Freddie Slater Decides To Get Tested

After the discussion, Freddie decided to get tested for ADHD to be sure. He said that if he is diagnosed, it could resolve his struggles in the future, especially now at school.

He said that there is no harm in getting tested and that he had nothing to lose if he did this. He also added that if it is confirmed that he has ADHD, it would help him understand his condition better and they can properly manage it.

Jean was encouraging towards Freddie. She said that no matter what the result is, he will still be perfect in her eyes. Fans will be able to know the result in the upcoming episodes next week.

It is great that the show highlighted ADHD in this narrative. According to UK NICE, there is an incidence rate of 3-4% of ADHD in adults. It is also good that they made this narrative in a positive light as there are supportive family and friends, including a concerned teacher.

Freddie made a great call in getting assessed and it was good that he took it positively. This kind of storyline somehow helps eradicate the stigma regarding this disorder.
