Duggar Family News: Jinger Explains Reason She Didn’t Participate In “Family Secrets” Docuseries

Jinger Duggar VuoloShiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets is currently streaming on Prime Video, and Jinger Duggar Vuolo recently explained the reason why she was absent from the docuseries about her family. While her cousin Amy Dugger King and sister Jill Duggar Dillard participated, she opted out.

The 29-year-old recently released her memoir this past January, titled Becoming Free Indeed, where she opens up about her journey with faith and complicated relationship linked to the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP); something her parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar taught her and her siblings.

According to Jinger, she was approached to participate in the docuseries but decided not to, as she wanted to share her story in her own time and in her own words. She recently told People that was the reason why she wrote Becoming Free; it was a way to share her experiences with IBLP teachings in a way that was “balanced” and could honor God.

Duggar Family News – Jinger Duggar Vuolo Has Spoken To Jill “A Bit”

Jinger reveals that she has spoken to Jill “a little bit” about the docuseries. She notes that her sister has her voice to share her side of the story. She even states she’s “excited to hear” what Jill has to say, “even in this documentary”. Jinger also talks about how her family will react to the docuseries, stating that “we will wait and see”, adding “everyone” will have their own response and their own timing, which is a part of the “process”. Jinger states the outcome will be interesting.

Michelle and Jim Bob have posted a statement on the Duggar Family Secrets docuseries, on their website. See below:

“The recent ‘documentary’ that talks about our family is sad because in it we see the media and those with ill intentions hurting people we love. Like other families, ours too has experienced the joys and heartbreaks of life, just in a very public format.”

Duggar Family News – Jinger Duggar Vuolo Talks About Becoming Free Indeed

Co-written by Corey Williams, Becoming Free Indeed shares Jinger’s faith journey and how she’s disconnected herself from her IBLP upbringing. Back in January, she notes to Entertainment Tonight that she did reach out to her family to let them know about the book she was writing and made it clear it wasn’t a “tell-all” about the Duggars. She states she loves her family and is thankful for all they sacrificed for her. She felt strongly about the book since she promoted IBLP teachings for so long.

Meanwhile, Jinger’s sister Jill recently announced she too was planning on writing a memoir entitled Counting the Cost, a book about her growing up in the Duggar family.

Becoming Free Indeed is currently available wherever books are sold.
