Recently, actress Arianne Zucker celebrated her 25th anniversary with the soap opera, and an episode this week showcased the Ericole romance from its inception. It was a nice walk down memory lane, but will this couple ever come together … and stay together?

DOOL spoilers suggest that Nicole’s current romance with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) may place a wedge between any possible relationship with Eric. It’s undeniable that she and Mr. Brady have a connection; however, she also has a history with EJ. There was once a time when Nicole was so desperate to hang on to DiMera that she lied about being pregnant and even stole Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) baby and pawned it off as her own. With that said, times have changed.

Much like Nicole, EJ had evolved. He may have a little scheming inside him, but overall, he does try to do better. Plus, their relationship is working well right now, with communication and chemistry in the bedroom. After Walker ended her marriage with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and broke his heart in the process, will she be willing to leave another good relationship behind to give it yet another go with Eric?

At the end of the day, Eric and Nicole do have something special, but one of them (or both of them) always manages to screw it up. Their 2020 marriage was very short-lived, with Eric jetting off to Africa before their honeymoon was even over.

More recently, Nicole barely separated and moved out of Rafe’s house before they called it quits again. Despite “thinking” about Eric, Nicole may be apprehensive to give Mr. Brady another try, especially in light of how quickly their recent reunion ended. Why would she leave a perfectly good and stable relationship when her romances with Eric in the past have always been doomed?
