Fans can tell that Nurse Whitley King (Kim Coles) is a few marbles short, but just how deeply rooted are her mental health woes, and what exactly do they stem from?

DOOL Spoilers: Could Nurse Whitley Be Suffering From Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder?

Days spoilers for the week of July 17th suggest that Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) and Marlena Evans (Diedre Hall) will have a conversation. It turns out that Doc will reveal to Sweetness that she was treating Nurse Whitley.

Not much is said in the land of soaps about the trauma that doctors and nurses go through in their line of work. Working hard to save a life and then watching that life slip away can be a difficult thing to go through, even when trained to handle these situations.

What if Nurse Whitley accidentally caused one of her patients to pass away? Then again, what if she watched a gunman or attacker walk into the hospital and hurt one of her patients, and couldn’t protect them? This could cause serious mental health issues; ones where therapy would be needed.

Days Spoilers: Is There Hope That This Storyline Will Wind Down Soon?

Days spoilers for the week of July 17th also indicate that Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) will go missing. There’s a good chance that Nurse Whitley could take her hostage, too, as she has been investigating Abe’s “death” and creating speculation.

With all these moving pieces, it seems that this storyline could finally be coming to a close. It would be nice to see Abe reunited with his family and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), sooner rather than later.

What do you think? It’s obvious that Nurse Whitley is loopy, but could she be suffering from PTSD from another tragic event that occurred while she was on duty? This could explain why she’s so protective of Abe, who was a patient of hers.
