Of course, that conversation was overheard by Chad himself. While Chad does love Stephanie, he also still feels committed to his late wife, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller).

Later, Stephanie tried to do damage control by telling Chad she was just humoring her mother.

Then, Stephanie said that she meant marrying Chad “someday.” That is when Chad said he wanted things to stay the same. Stephanie agreed, but it was clear that she was hurt.

It is teased that Stephanie will hide her marriage desire from Chad. With Stephanie working directly under Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) at Titan, this could lead to a reignited love triangle.

After all, Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis (Judi Evans) predicted Alex’s paternity discovery and Titan takeover would have all the women trying to get their hooks into the young man.

Stephanie would never go after a man for money. However, if Stephanie does end up with Alex, the media would have a field day with it.

So, it’s possible that Lucas is just mentioned during a phone call. However, fans really want to see Lucas. Plus, if Chad opens up to Lucas, he will prefer to do it in person.

In any case, the two will catch up. It is speculated that Chad will open up to Lucas about Stephanie and Abigail.

That is when Lucas will offer support and encouragement to Chad. It isn’t confirmed what Lucas tells Chad. Perhaps Lucas reminds Chad that Abigail would want him and the children to be happy.

Chad might realize that he does want to marry Stephanie after Lucas’ chat. However, Chad might be too late. Stephanie seems slated to lean more towards Alex romantically again.
