In a new interview, Amy King slammed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. She blamed them for helping cover up Josh’s crimes. Amy spoke to Vanity Fair about her appearance in the new Amazon Prime Video docuseries called Shiny Happy People. Jill and her husband Derick Dillard made an appearance as well.

In the new interview, Amy called out Jim Bob and Michelle for coddling Josh. She believes that they tried to cover up his crimes. She recalled first hearing about his molestation at the same time that everyone else did. The news first broke in 2015. According to the 33-page police report, Josh molested four of his sisters in 2002.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar did little about the situation. They only forced Josh to undergo Christian counseling for four months. When Amy first learned about the incident, she admitted that she was “pissed.” The family told her that they “didn’t want anyone to know” about the news.

She called them up for coddling Josh and covering his behavior. Amy said it was “cringe-worthy” and “evil.” She grew up with the Duggar siblings. They spent most of their days together. However, their relationship was tense after the incident came out.

“My last straw was the last scandal with Josh,” Amy told Vanity Fair. “I can’t imagine protecting a predator. I think that is the lowest of low, and there is no going back.”

Josh was arrested in April 2021 for possessing and receiving child pornography. He’s currently serving his 12-and-a-half-year sentence. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar continue to support him no matter what. So does his wife Anna Duggar.

Is Jana Duggar Under Control?

The Duggar family has been fractured ever since. Amy broke away from the super-conservative family. She still shares her experience every chance she gets. Also in her interview with Vanity Fair, she admitted that Jana is “under control” of her parents and isn’t “allowed” to speak to her.

“I truly hope the Good Lord above that Jana is happy and thriving and working through whatever she’s experienced, but I have no contact with her,” Amy explained. “Anyone that lives at home with anyone in the IBLP, you’re under their control, so I don’t know if she’s necessarily allowed to.”
