According to spoilers about the new docuseries, it seems that the Institute of Institute Of Basic Life Principles, (IBLP) is a sinister attempt by Bill Gothard to indoctrinate entire families. Actually, it goes so far as to suggest that the “cult” actually threatens “democracy.” Plus, there’s stuff in it about pedophilia and the suppression of women. Well, Jill Dillard put her hand up to take part in it, along with her husband, Derick. And, it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to suppose that it angered her father.
Some TLC viewers wondered if Jill Dillard forewarned Jim Bob Duggar that she would be in the Amazon show. Recently, she has been seen with her family and it seemed that her mom had reached out to Jill when her baby, Freddy was born. But, it could still have been a bit awkward between them. Potentially, Jill could have signed an NDA agreement for Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets. So, it’s not clear that she could tell them. But likely, her dad probably saw the trailer, anyway.
The statement that arrived came on Instagram Stories and on the family website. Well, they don’t seem to be at all happy about the nature of the docuseries. In the statement, they called it “sad” because a family member is talking about other members of the family. If her parents are raging angry about it, that might account for the Tell-All book that comes with the title “Counting The Cost.” If you don’t know Jill’s book is now on pre-order and will launch in January of next year.
Jim Bob Duggar obviously won’t be happy with the way the show examines his beliefs and lifestyle. In the statement, it noted, “This “documentary” paints so much and so many in a derogatory and sensationalized way because sadly that’s the direction of entertainment these days.” Well, as the docuseries does claim that basically, the TLC shows just became a platform to showcase Gothard’s teachings, he would naturally object.
Jim Bob Duggar seems to have taken aim at his daughter, Jill. The statement also said:
We have always believed that the best chance to repair damaged relationships, or to reconcile differences, is through love in a private setting. We love every member of our family and will continue to do all we can to have a good relationship with each one.”
While it looks like Jill’s mom and dad still want a “good relationship” with her, it hardly seems possible that it might actually turn out that way. Do you agree? Sound off in the comments below.
