Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Sad New Year, Kate And Kayla Relapse-Kate Dies

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease in this week’s Soap Opera Digest that it will be a sad new year. Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) will both relapse, and Kate will die.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Rex Brady Upset About His Mom’s Bloodwork

Rex had come to Salem for the holidays, and decided to do some tests on Kate’s blood to see how she’s been doing since receiving the orchid serum. He tries to be positive, but the results of the tests that he does are concerning; when Kayla learns about Kate’s results she comes to get tested. Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) comes to the hospital and sits with Kayla as Rex tells them the news is bad, her blood is showing the same abnormalities as Kate’s.

Rex is worried, because all indications from the tests he’s run on Kate and Kayla’s blood show that they are relapsing. Things are going in the wrong direction, and his worst fears come true as the relapse appears to be very rapid.

DOOL Spoilers – The Women Begin Feeling Ill, Kate Brady Dies

Shortly afterwards, both Kate and Kayla begin feeling ill, and things are progressing in a downward spiral so rapidly Rex scrambles just to keep things afloat. In the meantime, Kate passes out at home and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) rushes her to the hospital, where Rex takes over her care.

Kate deteriorates so quickly that Rex doesn’t even have a chance to look for more serum or ask if they need to get the orchid. He thinks about it but then, with both he and Roman there, Kate suddenly flatlines, and even though heroic measures are taken, it’s too late. Roman keeps telling his son to keep trying but he’s not able to revive Kate, she’s already gone, and he turns to his father and says there’s nothing left to do.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Rex Brady Is Beside Himself

Rex is simply beside himself that he was unable to save his mother or to resuscitate her, but he wasn’t able to get her heart started again. He knows that Kayla will be next, and she’s already feeling ill-Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) won’t be far behind. The three women became ill in rapid succession the last time, and now Rex finds there is no serum available for Kayla and Kate.

Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) eventually find out what’s happened to Kate, and they have even worse news for Rex. When Kristen goes to retrieve the orchid so Rex can try to recreate the serum in hopes of saving Kayla and Marlena, it’s gone!
