Chanel is feeling heartbroken and betrayed because her partner in business and in life, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) cheated on her with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson). This came after Allie kept accusing Chanel of being the cheater, after seeing her comforting her ex-husband, and Allie’s twin, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). Chanel and Johnny do have a residual bond and some attraction towards each other, but they never acted on it; with Johnny losing two grandmothers, he needed a friend.

Chanel will continue to lean on Johnny and her family and they’ll be there for her as long as she needs them. Soon, Allie and baby Henry Horton (Nash and Clyde Gunderson) will move to New Zealand with Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker).

DOOL Spoilers- Chanel Dupree Will Pour Herself Into Work

Chanel will pour herself into work, even though there are ongoing issues from Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) harassment and thrown-out murder case. It could be many months before her civil court case is heard, and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) is working hard to get that thrown out too.

Chanel will concentrate on her bakery business and keeping Sweet Bits the sweetest place in town to get cakes, doughnuts, and cookies. She’s thinking about adding a little coffee bar, since no one ever heard of one in the small time town of Salem, and that’s where Talia will come in. Chanel knows all about baking all kinds of sweet goodies and even artisan breads, but next to nothing about different kinds of coffees and teas and being a barista!

Some might think that a would-be doctor making delicious coffees might be an oxymoron, since most hospitals don’t serve delicious coffees! Most hospital coffee comes closer to the description of varnish stripper and its sole purpose is to keep the hardworking hospital employees able to keep working insanely long hours. When Talia comes to Salem, Chanel’s search for a barista and adding her coffee bar seem like a match made in heaven, and indeed, Talia’s a perfect fit.

As Talia and Chanel get to know each other better, it seems like they are a match made in heaven as well. They, like Talia’s coffee recipes, are the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, and for Chanel, the bakery’s fun again.
