For months, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) has wanted nothing more than for Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) to be his. He gave up on her for a while after she constantly rejected him and seemed more interested in Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), but when he helped her get those files from Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty), she started seeing him in a different light.

Since then, Alex and Stephanie have been growing closer and closer and she is finally there to see if things can go to the next level. Alex knows they keep getting interrupted by her phone, so when Stephanie leaves the room and Chad called, he ignored the call and put her phone on Do Not Disturb, figuring what harm could it really do?

Well, it does a lot of harm. After Stephanie and Alex finally make love, Alex thinks he has it all until Stephanie finally learns that Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) died and her mother, Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), could be next.

Days of Our Lives spoilers show Stephanie doesn’t realize it was Alex who made sure she didn’t hear the news sooner, but she rushes to the hospital anyway hoping to say goodbye to her mother before it’s too late. When Alex learns that his foolish move could cost Stephanie that chance, the guilt overwhelms him but he is not about to confess his sins.

“Alex is feeling very guilty,” Robert Scott Wilson said in the January 16, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He’s not ready to ruin what he world so hard for and tell the truth. He’s working at being a better person, but he’s not all the way there yet.”

Alex eventually tells his brother, Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker), what he did and honest-to-a-fault Sonny advises him to come clean with Stephanie, but Alex balks at the idea.

“The timing of this is the worst,” Wilson said. “While they were finally enjoying themselves, one of the worst things possible happened.”
