Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of January 9 reveal that a promo clip shows what to expect. For one thing, it appears that Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) die. Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) will be carrying a horrifying secret. Plus, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) and Orpheus (George DelHoyo) face off in prison.

DOOL spoilers for the week of January 9 reveal that Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) tells Lucas some shocking information. Lucas is still in prison, so he will find out that Orpheus tried to kill Kate. Of course, Lucas is furious and ready to murder Orpheus. Any restraint that Lucas had will be erased when Kate dies.

It is teased that Lucas will lose control after finding out about Kate’s death. Lucas will try to strangle Orpheus. However, fans can expect Orpheus to play mind games with Lucas. One way that Orpheus does this is by attacking Lucas’ sobriety. In prison, Orpheus gifts Lucas a contraband bottle of booze.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that the weekly preview clip shows Steve sobbing as Kayla flatlines. There is also a scene that shows Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) wailing after finding out about her mother’s death. In addition to Kayla, Soap Opera Digest confirms that Kate dies. Whether the soap resurrects Kate or not isn’t known right now, though.

Expect Alex to get roped into this storyline when he blocks a call to Stephanie from Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Of course, Alex doesn’t realize the reason why Chad is calling Stephanie. So, Alex will have to make a decision whether to confess the truth to Stephanie or keep it a secret forever.

Fans can also expect Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) to share a warm embrace. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) has a heartbreaking outburst. Expect John Black (Drake Hogestyn) to put his arms around Marlena. However, there is little John can do to reassure Marlena after Kayla and Kate’s deaths. So, we will have to see what happens to Marlena.
