Days Of Our Lives News: Wendy Shin’s Victoria Grace Withdraws Daytime Emmy Nomination

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fans are still buzzing about the 50th Annual Daytime Emmy nominations that were just announced recently. After all, the Peacock soap received 11 nominations. Unfortunately, one of those was withdrawn recently, as actress Victoria Grace (Wendy Shin) took herself out of the running.

Wendy Shin has become a huge fan favorite on the soap, almost instantly. Unfortunately, she hopped on social media this past Friday evening of April 28th to let fans know that while she was honored to be recognized by the Academy and nominated for a Daytime Emmy, due to a huge “misunderstanding” across the board when it came to rules for the Younger Performer category, she was withdrawing her nomination. While she notes she’s “surprised” and “heartbroken”, she also believes in fairness to all the others in the category. Therefore, in her statement, she made it clear that she was rescinding her Daytime Emmy nomination.

In the past, actors and actresses up to the age of 25 could enter the Daytime Emmy Younger Performer category. With that said, the Academy changed the rules this year, marking the cut-off age to 18.

With that said, Ms. Grace wished all the other nominees the best of luck and she pledges to continue to work hard to earn a Daytime Emmy nod for 2024. The silver lining is that according to SoapsSheKnows.com, DOOL Head Writer Ron Carlivati recently notes that he has a major arc in mind for Ms. Shin. With both Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) currently vying for Wendy’s attention, what’s in store for the popular Salemite next? Only time will tell!
