Country Music Singer Lainey Wilson Uncertain Of Future In Yellowstone

Country music star Lainey Wilson recently performed at Stagecoach 2023 and is unsure of the future of her role on Yellowstone.

Lainey Wilson was famous before she joined Taylor Sheridan’s hit modern Western show, Yellowstone. In fact, she is renowned in the world of country music. Lainey recently performed in the epic Stagecoach 2023 music festival. However, reportedly, Wilson is unsure of her ongoing character, Abby, in Yellowstone.

Lainey Wilson unsure of her role in Yellowstone

As Yellowstone fans know, recent headlines have alleged that the modern Western hit series will end after season 5. On top of this, filming of part 2 of the fifth season, which was set to drop in the summer of 2023, seems to have been delayed indefinitely.

Meanwhile, in an interview with ET, Lainey Wilson revealed that she is unsure of the fate of her Yellowstone character, Abby. Moreover, she has no idea when the series will continue filming. This comes following many reports claiming that feuds on set will cause the series to end after season 5.

Wilson plays Abby, a country music singer, in the series and so far, has only featured in four episodes of part 1 of season 5. However, she is hopeful her character will return to the ranch in part 2 of the fifth season. She told ET:

I’m planning on getting an update today. It’s wild. Like, just tell me when man. Yeah, I have no clue what’s going on… I’m waiting on that phone call.

Yellowstone welcomed Lainey with open arms

Meanwhile, Lainey also described her experience working on Yellowstone. She says, “It’s crazy, you know? They’ve honestly just welcomed me with open arms,” she said, adding, “They have just treated me like one of their own. I didn’t really know what to expect, especially the first day on set, but they treated me with respect.”

Moreover, Wilson said that she feels like what she’s learned about the TV business is that is it even crazier than the music business.

Acting, music, or both for Lainey Wilson?

While the Yellowstone star insists that music is still her priority, she does feel that acting has improved her artistry as a whole. “I started out doing music, and that’s always going to be my focus,” she said, adding, “That’s my way of expressing myself. And they have a different way of expressing themselves and being creative. But [there] was this mutual respect for each other.”

On a music note, Wilson will be touring with Luke Combs as his opening act for his 2023 world tour. Meanwhile, since 2014, Lainey has released four albums. She has gone on to win two Country Music Association Awards and was nominated for three. As for Yellowstone, it is unknown if the country music star will return for the last part of Yellowstone season 5. In the meantime, fans can watch an interview with Wilson below.
