In a recent interview to discuss her new book, Jinger made a shocking confession about her attraction to men. While chatting with BlazeTV, the Counting On cast member confessed, “I would feel guilty if I was attracted to a young man, who was Godly, who had good character, I would feel so guilty. And I would never talk to my sisters about it because I was like, ‘that’s almost sinful.'”
Obviously, Jinger Duggar is talking about when she was a teen and still living under Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s roof, before she marred her husband Jeremy Vuolo. But still, that’s definitely a disturbing thing to drill in to a teen’s head. How can you tell young adults it is sinful for them to be attracted to members of the opposite sex when their hormones are telling them other wise?
Can you imagine fearing ultimate damnation because you thought a boy you saw at church was cute when you were in middle school? That certainly would explain a lot of the Duggar girls issues when it comes to marriage and men in general. Of course, the accusations against Josh Duggar and what he did to them certainly didn’t help either.
Do you think it’s wrong to convince teenage girls they are sinning if they find a boy attractive before they are married? What would their therapy bill look like? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and keep checking back here for more Counting On spoilers, news, and updates.
