Counting On alum James Duggar was practically raised by his big sister Jill Dillard so when he honored his dad, Jim Bob Duggar on Father’s Day many people bashed him for it. And yet, when he didn’t spend Mother’s Day with Michelle, he ended up bashed for that. Find out what TLC fans are saying.

On Mother’s Day, folks bashed Jinger, Jana, and James who spent the day together instead of with their mother. Of course, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t call her or send gifts. But, it was a great opportunity to get onto keyboards and sling some mud at the kids. Now, for the second time this year, more bashing came along because James did remember his dad on Father’s Day.

Counting On fans actually didn’t really know quite where James stood with his dad after Dill Dillard participated in the Amazon docuseries. He only posted a cryptic quote and it wasn’t clear if he still loved and respected his sister or not. Of course, a lot of people chose to believe that he dissed Jill. Now, a lot of people think he really sniped at her because of what he said about his dad on Father’s Day.

On Sunday, June 18, Jill Dillard’s younger brother took to his Instagram and shared a nice tribute to his dad. Actually, before the trial of his brother Josh, people might have given him a lot of likes. However, public opinion changed, especially since Amazon Prime aired Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets. So, he found a lot of hate and bashing. In his post, he shared three throwback photos of himself with his dad.

In his post, the Counting On alum started off by saying, “Happy Father’s Day to the man who has always been my biggest supporter. Pops, Thank you for your endless sacrifices, your belief in me, you always pointing me to Christ.” Appreciating the memories of his childhood, he also talked about how his dad is the “best.” Additionally, he noted, “I’m proud to be your child. Regardless of what anyone may say, your (sic) the best dad…in the world!”

Counting On Spoilers – Some Supporters Stand With James Amidst Bashing

Plenty of people bashed the young man because of Jill Dillard, who fans feel was betrayed by her dad when Josh molested her. Additionally, people feel angry because it seemed that Jim Bob disapproved of her talking about her life on Shiny Happy People.

One angry former TLC fan said, “…don’t forget he also controls nearly all members of your family, what they say and what they do. Oh yes, he used his children for his own financial gain. Dad of the year!!!!!”

Another critic wrote, “Regardless of what anyone may say. Direct dig at the only one who has the guts to stand up for herself.”

Counting On Spoilers – Defenders

Some Counting On fans stood up for James Duggar. One of them said, “Jim Bob still gave life to James. Yes, what was done is awful. But James still deserves to appreciate his father for the life he gave him.”

Another one noted, “James Duggar has a right to still love his dad. He can hate the sin but still love his dad. Remember Jill said she still loves her dad…”

Here’s another supporter who thought it was wrong to bash James: “Hey haters, James is not his dad. We don’t know their relationship, but James has done nothing wrong.”
