Counting On alum Jason Duggar isn’t in the news all that often. However, he does hit the tabloid headlines from time to time. Now in his early 20s, Jim Bob and Michelle’s 12th child works in construction. Or at least, he did. A new rumor suggests that he switched careers recently.

Back in May last year, a lot of TLC fans were still discussing the trial of Josh Duggar. At the moment, he is serving 18 years in federal prison for possession of CSAM content on his computer. While most of the boys in the mega-family didn’t say much, Jason shared a statement. In it, he spoke about how the sentence didn’t seem excessive for the crime. Clearly, he didn’t think that his older brother was Mr. Innocent. In fact, he also talked about how he hoped the prison experience would “humble” Josh.

However, the Counting On alum seems to be not anti-Jim Bob and the way he raised his kids. That assumption can be made because of his reaction to Jill Dillard appearing in Amazon’s Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets docuseries. While he didn’t make a statement, he did add a link to his mom and dad’s blog where Jim Bob came over as angry about Jill talking things outside of the family.

The rumor that Jason switched careers came via a source who spoke with Katie Joy from Without A Crystal Ball. According to the influencer on Instagram, “Jason had been building homes through this company Build Master Construction. According to an employee at ACLB, Jason’s license is no longer valid after Jason failed to pay and apply for a license renewal.”

Allegedly, the Counting On alum “has now opted to go into the ‘tree business.” The word is that “Jason ditched his construction business and opened a tree trimming business.” Furthermore, he never underwent any “TRAINING or safety education in tree trimming.” Apparently, the career is very dangerous and people could end up getting hurt.

Counting On fans who know about the tree industry talked about Jason Duggar’s rumored career change. One of them said, “My nephew does tree work. It is indeed extremely dangerous and the training needed is extensive. Good luck Jason! You will need it. And one question – is it worth it to put others in harm’s way due to your “antics”?”

Meanwhile, another one wrote, “[My] Husband owned a tree business for over 40 years. It’s dangerous work and takes a special skill. Safety of workers is a constant, and the protection of homes and yards is a must. You need heavy insurance…not only [for] your work but your employees. It’s not a job for greenhorns…”
