Chloë Grace Moretz Show The Peripheral Renewed For Season 2 On Prime Video

After season 1 of The Peripheral first aired on Prime Video in October 2022, fans have been waiting to find out if it is renewed for a second season. Now, after months of speculation, the good news is finally in. The sci-fi drama will, indeed, have a second season on the streamer. Prime Video renews The Peripheral for season 2

When The Peripheral first aired on Prime Video, the sci-fi series soon attracted many fans. The show is loosely adapted from the William Gibson 2014 novel of the same name and is executive produced by Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan.

The series features Chloë Grace Moretz in the lead role of Flynn. In the storyline, she is seeking purpose in her life, while caring for her ailing mother. Meanwhile, she stars alongside Jack Reynor has her brother, Burton and both are avid gamers. This fact leads them to be paid to test out a new system from a company that allows Flynne to unlock her dreams. However, it also puts her life in danger.

While the show received positive reviews, its continuation has still been in question for some time. However, finally, The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Prime Video has officially announced season 2 of The Peripheral. Moreover, this also affirms creator Joy’s hopes and plans for a third season and beyond.

What can we expect from season 2 of the sci-fi thriller?

By the season 1 finale episode, Flynn has finally seized control and is fighting foes like Cherise (T’Nia Miller) and Zubov (JJ Field). What she has done is to protect her 2032 stub while relying on an unlikely alliance. This, at least temporarily, lessons the threat that Cherise poses to Flynne.

However, by creating a new splinter in history, The Peripheral has shifted significantly. In fact, due to the looming danger from the Research Institute, Flynne is far from being in a safe place.

Following on from season 1, season 2 will have to answer a number of key questions, including whether the Jackpot can actually be prevented. Meanwhile, there is also the unknown factor of whether Flynn, together with Wilf, will be able to undo the Research Institute’s manipulations.

Meanwhile, there is no shortage of potential ongoing stories for season 2 of The Peripheral. However, after so much time of fans biting their nails for news of season 2, the creators will now turn to what the new episodes will feature and which characters will be seen in more depth.
