The first full season of NCIS without the iconic Mark Harmon now officially has a date for the season 20 finale. In fact, fans can celebrate as the season ends in May. Meanwhile, the hit series has already been renewed for season 21, which goes to prove that fans will continue to watch without Leroy Jethro Gibbs as team leader.
It’s official, season 20 of NCIS will come to an end on Monday, May 22, at 9 pm ET on CBS. Meanwhile, the first half of NCIS: Hawaii’s second season will air on Monday, May 15 at 10 pm ET.
May is a busy month for CBS, as NCIS: Los Angeles wraps its 14th and final season that month. In fact, the first half of New Beginnings is set to air on Sunday, May 14 at 10 pm ET, while part 2 drops on Sunday, May 21 at 9 pm ET.
Following this, Entertainment Tonight will air a special episode titled, A Salute to NCIS: Los Angeles at 10 pm ET that same night. Meanwhile, as noted by Digital Spy, all three NCIS shows are available for streaming on Paramount+.
Fans will recall that NCIS was renewed for its 21st season in February 2022. Meanwhile, despite the fact that this was the first full season with Gary Cole playing team leader Alden Parker, the series remained the most-watched scripted drama series on broadcast TV. In fact, the series is officially the third-longest-running US scripted primetime drama series, only lagging behind Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order.
So far, CBS is keeping the full synopsis for the finale under wraps; however, the March 20 episode is sure to be exciting. Titled, Stranger in a Strange Land, the episode will see the team working on the murder of a Marine private. Apparently, he may have been murdered for helping an Afghan refugee. Moreover, Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) is feeling the pressure of raising his teenage daughter, when she wants to go out on an unsupervised date.
Besides NCIS and NCIS: Hawaii, CBS has renewed most of its shows, including CSI: Vegas, So Help Me Todd, Fire Country, The Equalizer and all three of the FBI shows are set to return. Meanwhile, Young Sheldon, The Neighborhood, Ghosts, and Bob Hearts Abishola will return in the fall. However, S.W.A.T., Blue Bloods, True Lies and East New York are still waiting for renewal.
