The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers and updates question what’s wrong with Eric Forrester (John McCook)-is he hiding a dire diagnosis? “Arthritis” doesn’t seem to check all the boxes for the trouble he’s having with his hand.
The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Is Eric Forrester Being Killed Off?
Years ago, no one ever thought a major character like Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) would ever be killed off, but look how that ended up.
Then there are the many lives and deaths and lives of Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) not to mention her “killer” Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). But they came back, eventually in Taylor’s case, while Stephanie has stayed dead, and Eric’s symptoms could fit a deadly disease – ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease.
There is a possibility that the Bold and Beautiful writers got their inspiration from General Hospital-where a character named Gregory Chase, played by Gregory Harrison has ALS.
On the other hand, there could be other diseases, some not so deadly or progressing much slower that could be causing Eric’s symptoms-or not.
B & B Spoilers – First Diagnoses Aren’t Always Correct, Or He Could Be Hiding Something
There would be a little too much inspiration from GH if it turns out Eric is trying to hide a dire diagnosis like ALS, but first diagnoses aren’t always correct.
Many diseases have symptoms in common and extensive testing is required-does the hospital even have a neurologist?
John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) diagnosed and performed surgery on Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) when he had his aneurysm and subsequent brain bleed, so he may be who treats Eric.
In the meantime, all kinds of interesting things could happen. There would likely be some dissension over who takes Eric’s place, for instance. He’s already feeling pushed out by Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) due to his advanced age.
The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – What Else Could Check The Boxes?
What else could check the boxes that wouldn’t be quickly terminal but cause Eric hand trouble?
It could be something treatable like carpal tunnel syndrome, or a slow degenerative disease like Parkinson’s or Lewy Body Dementia. But even if it is a bad case of arthritis, there are treatments available for a man with money like Eric.
Pain shots or hand surgery might help him, if tests show arthritic changes are hitting on nerves.
Eric has several children in the family business who might vie for his place-Thorne Forrester, (Winsor Harmon) for one, but while he waits on a true diagnosis, drama could ensue!
