Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) did not know what was happening when she visited her new best friend. The handwritten shooting confession, written neatly and placed in open view on a latte table (hey, it is Los Angeles, California) in the non-Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) beach house living room, provoked Brooke’s panic.
Thankfully, all was okay. Fans realized TPTB were continuing to write its arguably greatest female character, Brooke, and her one-time nemesis, Taylor, into a hopefully lasting friendship.
Hunter Tylo (Taylor) is said to have been offered her legacy role back. She declined, which led to a recast hiring.
Applause for Allen is appropriate, as it is hardly easy to step into the boots of a veteran actor who portrayed Taylor from 1990 through 2019. But she has done it, carving a new niche with solid storylines that include this most intriguing one.
Revisiting the shooting of Bill is intriguing as it mines a rich territory. The inclusion of Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) forced Taylor and Brooke to recognize their common enemy as part of their decision to bury the soapy hatchet.
Many individuals tried and failed to defeat Sheila through the years, with one exception. Brooke and Taylor need to look at another disliked lady and potentially team up with her if she returns to town.
Quinn Fuller (Rena Fuller) successfully ran Sheila out of the Forrester mansion. The eviction included Quinn physically overpowering Sheila during a memorable confrontation.
Eric Forrester (John McCook) generously allowed Sheila to stay in his home after she suffered what was a modest injury. But he was never fooled by her redemption claim. Brooke and Taylor would also be wise to seek Eric’s involvement and counsel.
One of the many differences between Sheila and Taylor is that Allen’s character has a conscience. Sheila’s recent mind game did a number on Taylor, causing a serious level of remorse and guilt.
Brooke promised Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) that she would help her mother. That is another engaging aspect of this new plot path, as Wood’s character truly values the help Brooke is honestly offering.
With support, Taylor can reclaim her confidence and join the team that fights Sheila on B&B.
