It is plausible to believe that his intensity of interest in her produced reciprocal feelings during that early period in the plot.

Brooke does not want to see this storyline development play out. She ordered Hope and Thomas to cease after finding them together.

Of course, that request is not one that Hope or Thomas plan to grant. They have no incentive to abide by Brooke’s wishes.

Hope is using her husband’s divorce decision as the basis to swap him out for Thomas. Atkinson’s character has waited years for Hope to become available.

Not only is she split from Liam, but her realized romantic interest gives Thomas the complete green light to be with her.

Ridge has often been backed into a corner. He had to defend Thomas’ mentally unstable behavior on countless occasions.

A change happened when Thomas was revealed as having framed Brooke for reporting him to Child Services. Thomas becoming the object of Hope’s affection is not comparable.

So, Ridge may not be inclined to go along with his restored love’s view of this scenario. That means it is possible Brooke and Ridge could clash about how to handle Hope and Thomas’ togetherness status on B&B.
