Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) decision to align himself with Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) makes no logical sense. Katie’s second go-round with Sheila followed her getting through to Bill, if only briefly.
Diamont’s character has been projecting a lost dog look for weeks. But he was hopeful when Katie mentioned the possibility of their family reforming.
Katie knows Bill loves her, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), his three children, and grandchildren. So, putting all of them in danger by proclaiming that Sheila has become his new destiny is madness.
Tom’s character was the first person to elicit a positive response from Bill. She told him their family, meaning him, her, and Will Spencer (Finnegan George), might reunite if he turned Sheila in to the police.
However, Bill instantly descended to his new, dark demeanor when Katie added a caveat. She said that there was no chance for them to revive their romantic connection.
Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) came down the cliff house stairs and told Katie what Steffy would not. She shot Bill, with that revived reveal representing the gun he holds against her.
A shot rang out in a brilliantly crafted scene. Devoted viewers recall the movie-like quality of the episode where a partially cloaked figure walked toward Bill’s mansion, entering, taking a gun, and shooting him in the back.
Taylor (then played by Hunter Tylo) was blinded by revenge. She felt compelled to attack Bill because of what he did to Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
That was pre-John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) when Steffy was with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). Despite Taylor’s belief that Bill took advantage of Steffy, Wood’s character was fully aware of what she was doing when they cavorted in the Forrester mansion guest house.
Taylor, who has suffered from mental health issues through the years, some of which were due to Sheila having shot her, was not in control of her faculties on that night. Bill forgave Taylor after learning who shot him, and promised to keep that secret until the current storyline began playing.
Bill told the authorities that he did not know who shot him. Viewers are wondering, as should the involved characters, what physical evidence he has that can conclusively link Taylor to the shot in his back.
Even if Bill has evidence, the authorities would likely be able to prosecute him for using that knowledge to process blackmail against multiple individuals on B&B.
