That play on words is an intended jab at her mother’s often-used noun referring to Brooke Logan’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) ongoing connection with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye).

Liam appeared to be Hope’s one and only based on the countless times she rejected Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) overtures.

One of the many quirky parts of this years-long arc involving Hope, Liam, and Thomas involves marriage. No, not the three times she has been married to Liam, but the brief nuptial to Thomas.

Hope ended her second marriage to Liam in 2019 and married Thomas that same year. Devoted viewers recall that arrangement was not about love. Thomas wanted it to be but it was never romantically formalized.

However, Thomas’ redemption efforts, which began in earnest earlier this year, drew Hope’s admiration. That, arguably along with the length of his devotion to her, led Noelle’s character to develop feelings for him.

Marriage is not a contract, though some in this fictional version of Los Angeles, California, see it that way. Liam concluded that the terms of his third marriage to Hope, which began in 2020, were violated when he saw Hope kissing Thomas.

Liam is not wrong to feel the way he does. A married woman does not have repeated thoughts about another man, like Hope did, or initiate two kisses with him in Rome, Italy.

Liam’s opt-out left Hope rattled. She used that as a license to go farther than Noelle’s character ever did during her marriage to Thomas. Any reasonable mind would claim that gave Liam solid grounds for divorce, assuming he learns what happened.

Hope feels irresistibly attracted to Thomas. She seems to be falling in love with him based on his devotion to her. But Thomas has no serious relationship history. His mental stability issues have seemingly prevented him from being able to form a strong connection with another woman and then sustain it.

So, it will be up to Hope to drive this bus. Her experience will be vital if, as it currently seems, Thomas becomes her new destiny on B&B.
