The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers document that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) believes she can not protect her children and marriage simultaneously. So, in acting with haste, she left her husband to live alone at the cliff house.
If Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is such a mortal threat to the world, then John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) is vulnerable to her next attack.
But Steffy was only thinking about her husband’s vulnerability and how it affected her and the children, rather than also recognizing that Finn is vulnerable to Sheila doing something terrible to him.
Steffy’s family has a history with Sheila that will never be forgotten, forgiven, or rectified. Finn knows that. Yet, the woman saved the life of Steffy’s daughter.
Understandably, Steffy reacted as she did. Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) insertion of himself into Steffy’s marriage might not have happened to the degree it did if all was swell with Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle).
But just as Liam’s overreaction to Hope kissing Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) led to him demanding and getting a few-day divorce from Hope, so too was Steffy provoked to run away from her home and take the kids.
Finn is not going to be able to defend himself from the monster that is Sheila in the predicament Steffy left him in.
He was abandoned by his wife, who also took his son with her. That alone would require legal action in the litigious state that is this version of soapy California.
It would have been better for Steffy to stand with Finn and fight against Sheila. While Wood’s character used her maternal instinct to get her children to perceived safety, Sheila is very familiar with the Forrester mansion and remains a problem in any scenario.
Steffy should support her husband through his conflicted state. It is not just his job to support her.
A balance marriage requires give and take on both sides, rather than one side expecting to be obeyed.
Finn, Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras Mckinlay), her dolls, sandcastles, and no one except Sheila in the general vicinity during the middle of a summer day set the perfect soapy summer scene.
Finn’s turn away from Kelly to take a work call was out of character but happened so that Sheila could play hero and Steffy could leave.
The sound of the waves crashing, along with the nurse’s voice through Finn’s earbuds, blocked him from hearing Kelly’s screams.
But Sheila was waiting and watching it all. She rescued Kelly, much to Steffy’s chagrin and ingratitude.
Yes, Sheila left Steffy and Finn for dead, and she intended to kill Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda). But what matters, as Finn keeps reiterating, is that Sheila saved Kelly’s life and that is why he feels grateful, no matter how his wife and mom feel about that on B&B.
