Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) provided a good home to Douglas, with his father’s approval in recent years. Then, last summer. Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) pulled a fast one when asking to have Douglas stay with him at his grandfather’s mansion.
Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) generosity was exploited in various ways. One of them was when Thomas did not allow Douglas to return to the cabin. Hope gave in, seeing that Douglas was having fun. But that later turned to typical Thomas mischief, and Douglas was sent back to the cabin again.
It feels like a long time ago when Django Ferry (Douglas) was filling in for Samiri, who took a brief leave from the cast to work on other projects. Samiri’s burgeoning career is reflective of this young actor’s talent level, as devoted fans know.
So, Douglas was asked to lie again. Thomas infamously told his son not to tell Hope or anyone that Beth Spencer (Jordyn Lynn Ariza) was alive, and most recently followed by admonishing Douglas, who knew it was wrong to blame his grandmother, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).
The voice application reveal led to Thomas being stripped of his right to see Douglas without supervision, which made everyone tense. Thomas rejected that natural consequence and had legal papers drawn that allowed Douglas to pick his chosen home. Hope went along with the plan, to her later chagrin.
John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) told his wife he could drive Douglas to school two days a week. That is necessary because Samiri’s character plans to live with Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and the Finnegans at the cliff house indefinitely.
Finn had to be convinced it was best for Douglas to live with them. Steffy did not seek this responsibility but accepted it because she values family and is the responsible sibling, when compared to her older brother.
Thomas was summoned to the cliff house by his mother. Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) told him and Steffy that they needed to resolve their differences about Douglas before matters got too far out of hand.
One way to do that would be to tell Thomas, not ask him, that he needs to take Douglas back and forth to school. Doing so would set a regular schedule and allow Thomas to demonstrate that he can handle responsibility.
Thomas could take advantage of this suggestion. But Steffy could contact the judge if that happens.
Taylor was right to tell Thomas and Steffy that they must work together. This possibility offers Thomas a chance to spend time with his son and creates a chance to eventually earn greater trust on B&B.
