Brooke’s reconnection with Deacon, since he was released from prison for attempting to shoot Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), included some inebriated romance. Devoted viewers recall two New Year’s Eve’s ago, when Sheila manipulated Brooke’s champagne bottles that were sent from Il Giardino, then under its old management.

Deacon happened to be with Brooke on the party night in question, while Ridge was attempting to fly home before the stroke of midnight and did not make it. No more than kisses were shared as Deacon stayed the night. But he did so purely to make sure Brooke was okay.

Brooke claims she is no longer fixated on Ridge. Her outlook has been aided by a newfound and far-fetched friendship with Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen).

Ridge’s absence has helped both ladies to convince themselves they no longer need him and will never need to be with him again. If that is true for Brooke, even in the short term, then Deacon would be a reasonable second candidate.

Hope did not believe Paul Hollis Hollister (Hollis W. Chambers) was a good match for her mother. So, she will keep pushing the reunion potential to her mom and dad.

Deacon appears determined to make his business work. He realized his dream of opening this business and never intends to return to jail.

But the emotional connection he unexpectedly developed for Sheila could easily wreck the progress he has worked hard to achieve. Plus, Hope’s awareness of his tie to Sheila would seriously endanger her relationship with her dad and cause Brooke to erupt.

Thankfully for Deacon, Sheila wants to maintain their secret bond as well. But since this is soap, fans await this reveal to be exposed and the fallout to follow on B&B.
