Reconsidering the above section, one might wonder if Taylor was the author. It was a passioned argument on behalf of Thomas.

Taylor is purely following her maternal instincts in wanting to believe that her boy can be better. She does not want to think Thomas is a fatally flawed person who will continue repeating his pattern of destructive behavior forever.

Allen’s character has endured mental health issues. She fought various bouts and currently has herself steadied.

Thomas’ mental issues are at a different level. But no one, including Brooke, can blame Taylor for wanting Thomas to pursue stability and hope others help him to do so.

Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) feels compassion for Thomas. Her outlook persists despite all he put her through.

Thomas was tasked by Hope with offering an apology to her mother. Hope is using that as part of a conditioned return to work approval.
