Apple TV+ is known for its riveting series, and this latest documentary looks like a big winner for those who love true crime. The four-part docuseries tells the exciting story of CEO-turned-fugitive Carlos Ghosn. It will cover his ruthless climb to the top of the corporate ladder, his shocking arrest and his mind-boggling escape from prison.
The streamer has released a trailer for the international true-crime series, along with its August 25 global premiere date.
In the series, viewers will enjoy in-depth access to all the key players in Ghosn’s story. Among them is Mike Taylor, a former Green Beret who opens up for the first time about how he orchestrated Ghosn’s harrowing escape. Along with Taylor is Carlos Ghosn himself, who tells his wide of the shocking global news story for the first time and from start to finish.
The documentary was inspired by the acclaimed book Boundless by Wall Street Journal reporters Sean McLain and Nick Kostov. Meanwhile, it will feature never-before-seen interviews, along with video footage with those who followed Ghosn’s rise to corporate power in Japan. It also features his numerous arrests and his shocking escape to Lebanon.
Executive producers for the documentary, Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn include Academy Award winner James Gay-Rees (Amy) and Emmy Award winner Paul Martin (Drive to Survive). Producers include Martin Conway, with Head of Video for The Wall Street Journal, Amanda Wills and Daniel Rosen executive producing for The Wall Street Journal Studios.
