Following her cousin Jill Duggar‘s successful release of her tell-all book “Counting The Cost,” Amy Duggar took to her Instagram account to congratulate her and also wish that the book become a New York Times bestseller.
In the post which the TLC alum captioned “Instant NYT BESTSELLER!!” With a picture of herself, her mom Deanna Duggar, and Jill, Amy made sure to tag Jill and Jill’s husband Derick Dillard on it. However, while Amy’s post attracted good reactions from her fans, some of them couldn’t help but want her to join in on the writing thingy.
Amy Duggar — Will Amy Be The Next Author In The Duggar Family?
Somewhere in the comment section, a fan suggested, “Amy you should write your own book too!” And, with all humility, Amy replied, “I have been contacted by publishing companies, so I just need to see if it’s the right fit.”
The 36-year-old went on to say that although she has a story she would love to tell, she is not about to steal Jill and Derick’s thunder. “I do believe my story could help so many people. So many conversations and situations to be told. So we shall see! Right now I’m just supporting Jill & Derick!”
With that response, someone else curiously questioned why Amy should consider writing about the Duggars when she didn’t live with them, “Why should she write one? She didn’t live in the house and she wasn’t raised with any of the same teachings,” read the comment.
Instead of picking offense, Amy carefully explained, “Although I didn’t live at the big house I grew up all around it. I think my story would impact lives bc it wasn’t a normal childhood . A story nobody knows and a story that’s hard to write. Then tv stuff and what I was told. It would be a juicy one. It would be a book with a lot of stories because a lot has happened in my life even without the camera around,” she continued. “We all have a story to tell.”
Amy Duggar — Amy’s Support To Jill Duggar’
Right from when Jill announced that she was writing a book about her experiences growing up in her strict Christian family, Amy and her mom Deanna have always shown their support both privately and publicly.
On the day Jill’s book was released, Amy wrote on Instagram, “May God bless the people who read your heart! You are going to help so many hurting people and that’s what it’s all about. I understand being cautious to trust, we’ve talked about it and It’s still so difficult given what all we’ve been through, but through it all I’m so glad God has given us strength.”
Amy added, “I’ve said it so many times and it’s still so true, I love how you and @derickdillard stand for truth! God goes before you both! Cheering you on all the way! Love, Ames.”
