American Pickers: Update On Frank Fritz’s Condition

American Pickers fans are finally getting an update on Frank Fritz’s condition. They’ve been wanting him to return to the History Channel series for several years now.

Unfortunately, a serious health problem set him back. Keep on reading to learn more.

Frank Fritz – Health Update

There is a new update on American Pickers’ former cast member Frank Fritz. He was previously placed under a conservatorship after he suffered a stroke in July 2022.

There is some good news for the fan favorite. His conservatorship has been downgraded to “temporary” as his health continues to improve.

An insider spoke to The U.S. Sun about Frank’s current health condition.

“It’s only temporary. It’s not guaranteed a lifetime. It’s just a temporary thing. Month to month,” an insider told the outlet. “Anyone who has a stroke and they don’t have anyone to maintain paying bills, somebody’s got to do it. Anything that’s conservatorship or guardianship is done by the state. His guardian has to make sure doctors call him and that Frank makes his appointments.”

Frank Fritz’s friend Chris Davis is his legal guardian. MidWestOneBank is his conservator, which handles all of his finances.

Frank’s friend Chris also shared a positive update with The U.S. Sun.

He will continue to improve as he fully recovers from his massive stroke that took place last summer.

“Frank continues to improve daily. You’re never 100 percent after a stroke, but he’s fine,” Chris said. “He’s aware of what’s going on. If he were sitting here right now, you could sit and talk to him. He’s the same old Frank.”

American Pickers – Cast Member Wheelchair Bound

Frank Fritz ended up wheelchair-bound after the health scare. He had a stroke at his Iowa home. His friend found him lying on the floor.

Frank has dealt with many health issues over the years, including back problems and alcoholism.

Chris revealed that Frank is able to walk again. However, he still needs the wheelchair since he still “can’t walk long distances.”

He lost most of his sense of motion. Frank will continue to get outpatient therapy on a weekly basis. Chris wanted to squash the rumors about Frank’s deteriorating health.

“A stroke can affect your left or your right side, it’s affected his right side,” Chris continued. “He’s had a stroke, but he’s definitely not debilitated to the point where he can’t do anything or do whatever he wants. He doesn’t have any problems with that. It’s just a change of lifestyle and it slowed him down.”

Frank Fritz is still the same guy that American Pickers fans know and love. He still has his sense of humor and wits about him.
