All American Spoilers: Taye Diggs OUT, Billy Baker Dead?

All American spoilers from The CW reveal sad but true news, Taye Diggs is officially out and fans will say goodbye to his popular character Billy Baker.

All American fans were shocked when the all new episode aired this week featuring the demise of Billy Baker while he raced to save his students from a fiery bus accident.  But, Taye Diggs and the cast and crew were fully prepared for the emotional goodbye.

All American Spoilers – Taye Diggs Exits All American

Why did Taye Diggs leave All American?  Well, contrary to some of the rumors on the internet, the fan fave was not canned by The CW and actually is the one who pulled the plug on his tenure on the hit show.

In a recent interview with TV Line, Diggs dished, “I was having a great time. It was just a feeling that I got [that I was ready to leave], and I just honored that feeling. It was maybe mid-fourth season. I don’t even remember, to be honest, because the showrunner [Nkechi Okoro Carroll] and myself are close. We’d been keeping in contact, so she had known, and we’d been talking. And we decided how to go about it, and storylines and whatnot, so it was all above board, and everyone was in the know.”  

While it is clear Taye was ready to move on from All American, and we know fans absolutely wouldn’t have accepted a recast for Billy Baker, that doesn’t make the star’s exit any more bearable.  And, it will definitely not be the same without Taye Diggs on the canvas any more.

All American Season 5 Episode 12 – Synopsis

According to All American spoilers, Season 5 Episode 12 is set to air on February 20th on The CW.  And, the official episode synopsis teases, “When an unexpected event rocks both the Beverly Hills and Crenshaw communities, they come together to support each other in an unexpected way.”  It looks like the aftermath of Billy’s unexpected death is going to bring some emotional scenes to fans and Taye Diggs will get a proper sendoff.
