90 Day: The Last Resort Star Yara Zaya Opens Up On Body Insecurities

As 90 Day Fiancé fans know, Yara Zaya has undergone body improvements since we first saw her on the TLC reality show. However, while we may think she looks perfect, the Ukrainian beauty is insecure. It seems her upbringing with her parents has given her body insecurities, which she still has to this day.

90 Day: The Last Resort and Yara Zaya’s insecurities

In a trailer for Monday’s episode of 90 Day: The Last Resort, Yara, 28, gets emotional while explaining that her upbringing has led to her “level of insecurity” when it comes to her body. She explains, “I grew up and still think sometimes if I gain two extra pounds then I’m chunky.”

“For me, it’s cultural,” she explained. “My parents, for example, always, always compare me to be somebody different. You need to be perfect. Growing up, my mom, for example, taught me that my nose wasn’t so good. Or they tell me I’m chunky or something like that.”

Fighting back tears, Yara said how hard it is, adding, “But then I grew up and still think sometimes if I gain two extra pounds then I’m chunky, like, that’s just something I cannot freaking cut off.”

Meanwhile, Yara’s husband, Jovi Dufren, tries to be understanding, but he can’t. It seems he has similar problems, as she adds, “He’s really secure about himself.”

Molly Hopkins tries to reassure Yara

Next, Yara’s fellow cast member, Molly Hopkins, speaks up, urging her to give herself grace relating to her body positivity.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself,” Molly said. “And I know it’s hard. I know how it feels after you’ve had a baby. But I need you to understand something. You are absolutely stunning. You look amazing. I think you’re so beautiful.”

“Thank you so much,” Zaya replies.

Yara on her body image on 90 Day Fiancé

During the 90 Day Fiancé season 8 Tell-All in 2021, Yara also opened up about her body image. She explained that she felt comfortable turning to plastic surgery as a way to learn to love herself. She added:

I don’t see anything wrong with that. If somebody doesn’t like something on themselves, change it. Yes, you need to love yourself the way you are. But if you can’t accept something, it’s OK to change it.

We are living in 2021, and if you wanna do something, do it.

The 90 Day Fiancé star went on to explain her issue with her nose, comparing it to a potato, and she decided to do something about it, adding:

Four years ago, I was doing my lips too. And again, how I say, there is nothing wrong with surgery if you don’t like something and accept it on yourself. I was not accepting myself when I looked in the mirror, and I had to fix the situation.
