However, vets in Ecuador treated the dog and warned about how they can become paralyzed from eating certain foods. While the story had a happy ending, it must have been incredibly difficult for Corey, Evelin and their beloved fur baby.

Fans will recall the rocky relationship between Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Rathgeber traveled to Ecuador to be with Evelin, but there were problems from the start. However, Corey and Evelin wed before appearing on The Other Way season 3 but decided to keep it secret.

Despite their critics, the couple is still together and living in Ecuador with their adorable dog. Back in April this year, Corey posted on Instagram to share the status of the resort and restaurant he and Evelin are building. However, since that time there is no mention of how their project in Ecuador is progressing. In fact, Corey has been pretty quiet on social media in general, except for recently wishing Evelin and her mother a happy birthday.

However, Corey is now active on Instagram again, while sharing a devastating story about their dog. Anyone who loves dogs will find this story very upsetting, but it did, luckily, have a happy ending.

At around one month ago, their dog was suddenly paralyzed, which Corey wrote was “the scariest thing that’s ever happened.” He wrote that they believe Puppy had eating raw chicken that he found on the beach and was suddenly paralyzed. The vet diagnosed the pup with a condition called Toxoplasmosis and he was hospitalized for two weeks. Following this, the recovery process was around one month.

In a video shared to Instagram, we can see tragic moments with their pup, which missed Corey and Evelin while he was in the hospital. However, as the story continued, we see the dog going through physical therapy to gradually teach him to walk again. Meanwhile, it is heartbreaking to see Puppy crying after missing his humans so much, even though they drove two hours to visit him each day.

In his caption, the former 90 Day Fiancé star went on to warn his followers about the dangerous condition. He wrote, “If your dog ever suddenly can not [sic] walk and has sudden neurological issues, check for this condition.” Rathgeber continued, writing, “If left untreated, your dog may never walk again, and it can cause death,” adding, “Special thanks to @animalopolis for taking such good care of him!”

While the video is hard to watch, it does go on to have a happy ending. The clip shows Puppy’s progress as he gradually learns to walk again, ending with the beloved dog running free on the beach.
