90 Day Fiance: The Other Way Season 5 brings a wide variety of cast members and some spoilers already leaked. But with Wayne Cornish and Holly Weeks, it’s not clear what the outcome was. Anyway, judging by the teasers, one would imagine that they face an imminent and violent end. So, what are South Africans saying about the crime and robberies that Wayne insists are so dangerous?
The first trailer for the season revealed that Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio returned. Their story covers the ongoing discussion about adopting a baby. Many people like the couple who live in Mexico with Armando’s daughter. Spoilers suggested that they might relocate to Mexico City. Meanwhile, the couple seems to be doing well with their various businesses.
Other 90 Day Fiance stars in the new season also seem to be doing well. Not while the show airs, but in real-time. It seems that spoilers emerged about Brandan and Mary. Apparently, they are married already and furthermore, she possibly expects a baby. But this weekend, the focus is on Wayne Cornish and Holly Weeks.
In a recent teaser for the show, TLC revealed Wayne going on and on about his security. According to him, people tried breaking in three times in six months. Sadly, on one occasion, the robber also killed his dog, Stormy. Naturally, Holly and her mom are shocked and afraid. So, he arranged to install a pepper spray dispersal system in his garage.
90 Day Fiance fans discussed how scary the country seems to be. Well, there is crime there, and plenty of daily news events can be found on a Google search. But some people wondered if it was as bad as Wayne makes out. Interestingly, it was South Africans who felt that he exaggerated a lot.
Fans who live in South Africa seemed divided on how bad the crime is. Some of them agreed that crime is rampant and that Wayne is right to take precautions. One comment read, “It’s exactly as bad as he’s making it out.” But others claimed it “depends on the area” where people live. Nevertheless, they’d never heard of anyone setting up a pepper spray system.
Gates, dogs, armed response, spotlights, and high walls are usually the norm if people can afford them. Or they live in secure private communities. Farmers arm themselves. But the way Wayne goes on in 90 Day Fiance, one might think the odds of survival are next to zero.
A viewer said in the comments, “I am South African too, and I think this guy is exaggerating. Yes the crime rate is high, but people don’t get robbed so many times in their home. Our home has never been robbed not even once. I think this guys (sic) is doing some dodgy business with dangerous people.”
Another one wrote, “I live in SA and have never heard of anything like this! We have house alarms … electric fences etc … but this pepper stay story sounds crazy!! Which area does he stay in that crime is so bad?! Sorry … I live in SA and have never been house robbed in 60 yrs!!
