90 Day Fiancé Star Mary ‘Not Ready’ For Intimacy With Brandan

A teaser for Monday’s new episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way sees Mary feeling nervous about spending the night at her grandparents’ house with Brandan. In fact, in a teaser, she admits that she is “not ready” for intimacy with her American boyfriend.

In a teaser clip for Monday’s new episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Brandan, 23, tells Mary, “Normally we’d be on the phone right now, not, like, this close on a bed.” He continued, saying, “When I asked your grandparents for permission to use the room with you, they were like, you know, ‘No funny business.’ So, um…”

However, with Brandan already nervous with Mary’s grandparents so close by, their night got more uncomfortable when they spotted a gecko in the room. Looking at Mary, Brandan said:

I don’t wanna come off as, like, rude or disrespectful, but, um, do you by any chance foresee the night changing?

Clearly, despite the situation, Brandan is ready for love, but Mary admits that she doesn’t feel the same. She told him they shouldn’t get intimate, as they were both “tired,” adding, “I think I’m not ready yet.”

Brandan understood the situation and replied, saying, “I don’t wanna force you. Got it.” However, this comes after two years of phone intimacy.

Brandan and Mary’s ‘first times’

Talking to the cameras, Mary opened up about her feelings over intimacy. “I know we were having a lot of intimacy on the phone. But it’s different that he’s here now in person, and it’s a big deal to me.”

The TLC reality star explained, saying, “Just today, it’s my first time [having] me and Brandan in the same bed, first time kissing Brandan, all our first times.”

There is another aspect of their relationship that Mary has yet to share with Brandan. The pretty Filipina hasn’t told him that her grandparents want her to wait until they are married to get fully intimate.

“That’s a lot of pressure,” she added.

In the last episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, viewers saw Mary’s grandparents, Lucia and Dionesio, laying out guidelines for her and Brandan before he even moved in with the family.

“When Brandan comes, you should love each other, don’t fight with each other,” said Lucia, who was concerned over the couple’s fights in the past. Meanwhile, Dionesio added, “And he needs to respect us so that we know if he loves you or not.”

Mary’s grandfather then explained what he would be “OK with” relating to physical contact, saying: “For example, don’t do it with him.”

Back in a confessional, Mary reacted to her grandfather’s rules by admitting that she was struggling with her wish to express her affection to Brandan physically after two years of a long-distance relationship. Mary said:

I have been waiting for two years to hold his hand and know how it feels like to touch his hair and hug him. I always respect my grandparents. But I don’t want to tell Brandan we can’t do anything without their permission.

She added, “I just want it to be natural when I [meet] him for the first time. I don’t know what to do.”

Red flags in Brandan and Mary’s relationship

From the start of the season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, concern has been shown for the couple’s codependent relationship. Brandan and Mary reveal trust issues and have intense arguments.
