Recent headlines have been about 90 Day Fiancé star Molly Hopkins’ former boyfriend, Kelly Brown. Molly’s daughter, Olivia Hopkins had accused Kelly of “choke slamming” her at Molly’s place of business, LiviRae Lingerie. Finally, Brown has opened up to In Touch about the alleged incident and given his side of the story.

90 Day Fiancé stars Kelly Brown, 43, and Molly Hopkins, 47, dated for two years, but split in November 2022. Meanwhile, Molly has two daughters, Olivia, 22, and Kensley.

Kelly has opened up about an alleged physical altercation between him and Molly Hopkins’ daughter, Olivia Hopkins. Reportedly, the incident occurred on November 21, 2022, at Molly’s place of business, Livirae Lingerie. According to Kelly, it was “an unfortunate verbal incident that we all as a family expected to remain private,” adding:

It is disappointing that Olivia chooses to make the incident public three months later. Although the timing is interesting, I wish Molly and her daughters all the best and I’m grateful that I’m moving on with my life.

About the incident with Olivia and Kelly

It came to light in February 2023 that Kelly and Olivia were involved in a physical altercation at Molly’s place of business, LiviRae Lingerie, in Kennesaw, Georgia. Olivia alleged that Kelly “choke slammed” her. The police were later brought into the matter and In Touch obtained a copy of the police report.

Officer D.M. Kolb wrote in the police report, filed on February 2, that when he arrived on the scene, he met with Olivia Hopkins. According to Olivia, on November 21, 2022, she was in the store with her mother, Molly, and a Kimberly Tanner. The report continued:

Olivia was working behind the counter when Molly’s boyfriend, Kelly Brown, walked into the store. Kelly was angry with Olivia because of problems with Olivia’s boyfriend. Olivia and Kelly both argued with each other. Kelly stated that he would come at her.

Olivier said to come at her then. At which point, Kelly rushed to the counter, grabbed Olivia by her neck and slammed her against the wall. Kelly then threw Olivia to the ground. Olivia stated that she could not breathe when Kelly grabbed her by the neck.

Why did Olivia take so long to report the incident?

In the police report, it was also mentioned that Olivia “waited a long time to report the incident because she did not want to stress her mother during that time and because Kelly is a former NYPD detective.”

Speaking with In Touch after they received a copy of the police report, Kelly said he never punched her or threatened her with any weapon,” adding:

I really want to be left alone. I don’t bother them or even go in their town. I don’t want anything to do with them. It’s over. I haven’t been near them since November.

Molly Hopkins and 90 Day Fiancé

Molly first appeared in season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé in 2017 together with her now ex-husband, Luis Mendez. Along the way, Molly regularly appeared in Pillow Talk with her now-former best friend, Cynthia Decker. It was later, in season 1 of 90 Day: The Single Life, that fans were introduced to Kelly.

All along, the couple faced a number of problems including trust issues and the fact that Kelly wanted children that Molly couldn’t give.
