When first starring in 90 Day Fiancé or any other reality TV show, people have to get used to how public their lives now are. As they post on social media, cast members get love from some of their fans.
However, not everyone is a fan and much hate turns up in the comments on Instagram. Jasmine Pineda is finding herself the target of “hate speech,” but she isn’t backing down. As she moves to the US, the Panamanian beauty is now naming and shaming the people who want her to return to Panama.
90 Day Fiancé’s Jasmine Pineda subject to ‘hate speech’
90 Day Fiancé star Jasmine Pineda has finally received her K-1 visa and has moved to the US to be with Gino Palazzolo. She is determined to make her new life in America work, despite her initial shock at the freezing cold weather. However, she is fielding hate speech, with some allegedly telling her to return home to Panama.
Fans first met Jasmine when she starred in season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days along with her online love, Gino Palazzolo. While they had many roadblocks along the way, they finally got engaged at the end of that season.
Meanwhile, Jasmine is now starring in 90 Day Fiancé season 10, where the show documents her move to Michigan to live with Gino. However, along with the cold weather, Jasmine is finding that some people are giving her an icy reception. Reportedly, she has been subjected to much criticism after her move to the US.
Jasmine slams immigration agent for ‘hate speech’
Yesterday, Jasmine’s Instagram Stories related to the hate speech she is receiving, especially from an immigration agent. Allegedly, the agent is one of her critics and Jasmine publically shamed the agent on her Instagram Stories, including their profile picture and name. Meanwhile, she directly addressed the agent, accusing them of coming to her social media and “promoting hate speech.” The 90 Day Fiancé star called this a “serious violation” warning the agent that she was reporting them for cyberbullying.
Moreover, Pineda shared a message for immigrants like herself, telling them, “Do not accept hate speech.” She went on to write that discrimination and/or racism shouldn’t be accepted as the norm. Jasmine urged them to document any hate speech if possible and to not hesitate in reporting it to the authorities. “There are laws that project you,” she wrote, telling them that nothing will change if they don’t report it like she did.
Jasmine had recently shared other screenshots from an Instagram follower who told her to “go back” to Panama. She explained that her heart goes out to anyone living abroad and being targeted by discrimination, racism, or hate speech. “We all miss home… be kind to us,” she wrote. Jasmine added that, even under the worst circumstances, “no one wants to leave home.”
Meanwhile, on the TLC reality show, Jasmine revealed that she was hesitant about leaving Panama, as she has family there. She is currently leaving behind her mother, her two younger sisters, and her two sons. Jasmine is already missing her family, but hopes with Gino’s help to bring her sons to the US soon.
90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT on TLC, Max, and Discovery+.
