90 Day Fiancé Alum Varya Opens Up About Fight With Geoffrey After He Lost Appeal

90 Day Fiancé alums Varya Malina and Geoffrey Paschel reportedly had a disagreement after he lost his appeal. The Russian beauty has opened up about it, saying, “It was very hard for him’ following his failed appeal. Paschell was appealing his 18-year prison sentence on domestic violence charges laid by a former girlfriend.

In a post on Instagram, Varya Malina shared a series of vacation photos taken on a cruise. In her caption, she wrote, “I went on a cruise five days after Geoffrey’s appeal,” adding, “Honestly it was very hard for him to take it.”

Meanwhile, the former TLC reality star mentioned that a major problem with her cruise was not having a cellular service while out at sea. This meant she had no communication with Geoffrey during that time.

Meanwhile, she continued, writing, “Was it a hard decision to make – yes. Someone will consider it selfish. However I feel like two stressed people can’t effectively support each other,” she added, writing, “The best way for me to stay resourceful is to bring any positive changes in my life. So I choose to travel.”

While some of her followers likely felt her cruise was tone-deaf under the circumstances, the former 90 Day Fiancé star urged them to say “yes” to opportunities even if it “doesn’t feel like the right moment,” adding:

There will always be excuses: kids, school, money, relationships. When you choose yourself, you eventually make this choice for people you love as well. Happy and resourceful YOU = happy and respectful YOUR FAMILY.

Geoffrey Paschel has no possibility of parole

Varya’s post comes almost a week since she updated her followers on Geoffrey’s recent court appearance, where he lost an appeal against his 18-year sentence.

The former TLC reality star was sentenced on February 8, 2022. He had been found guilty of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault and interference with emergency calls. On July 6, 2022, Geoffrey filed an appeal on July 6 and his hearing started on April 5.

While Paschel denies the charges, they stem from an incident in June 2019 with his former fiancée, Kristen Wilson. A statement from the Knox County District Attorney’s Office read: “The victim told officers that she had been assaulted in her home by Paschel,” adding, “Paschel grabbed the victim by the neck and slammed her head against the wall several times. She was also thrown to the ground and dragged.”

According to the D.A.’s office, Paschel had taken the victim’s cell phone and had stopped her from leaving the residence. Reportedly, Wilson waited until the TLC reality star fell asleep to flee to a neighbor’s house. In his trial, Geoffrey claimed that her injuries were all self-inflicted.

90 Day Fiancé fans first met Paschel and Malina in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4, which premiered in February 2020. However, due to his legal battle, the couple was not able to attend the season’s Tell-All.

At first, it wasn’t clear if the couple was still together, but Varya moved into his Tennessee home in November 2021. Since then, she has been slamming trolls who believe she is “wasting her time” waiting for Paschel’s release.

Since then, Varya’s Instagram page is full of happy and smiling images and videos. While she says she and Geoffrey will soon be reunited, and she is “not locked in four walls.” Varya says she has her own dreams to follow and goals to achieve.
